3rd Grade Jellyfish Time!!!

3rd Grade Jellyfish
I love to hang student's projects and one of the projects I was excited to do with my students was the jellyfish project.  I went to my local gas station and asked for some dome lids that you can use for your drinks, I offered to pay for them, but the owner gave me 50 dome lids for free.  We took our dome lids and punched holes in around the side to attach our stingers which are plastic metallic looking fishing line, just thicker.

We than used some old laminate plastic and painted them with Blickrylic neon paint and ripped the plastic into long pieces for tentacles!!!
I love this paint, I buy it every year, it is used as a reward in my class since the students want to use it all the time! It's not shown in this pic but you can pic the neon colors when you order your paint!!

Lastly, we added the mouth, another product I had bought from Blick is this iridescent paper(similar to wrapping paper) which we tore up and glued inside all the tentacles.  We learned about the different parts of the jellyfish and went back to add fish and a back drop by printing bubbles on to some blue paper and added some 3-d seaweed.
Give it a try!!!
